NS SPCA are asking for the public’s help with any information regarding a cruelty investigation

NS SPCA are asking for the public’s help with any information regarding a cruelty investigation.

On February 21, 2019 SPCA officers received a call from a person who found a tote box in the Albro Lake Park area of Dartmouth with one mother cat and three kittens deceased inside. SPCA estimate that the kittens were approximately eight weeks old. Necropsies are being done to determine their cause of death.

If you have any information for this case, please call our hotline at 1-888-703-7722, email animals@spcans.ca or complete an online form at www.novascotiaspca.ca/animal-cruelty-complaint-form/.

All reports will be kept confidential.

Cases like this are particularly disheartening because the SPCA has an open admission policy, meaning that we will accept any companion animal into our care, regardless of health, breed, behavior or available space. This specific case is upsetting as the tote was found about a 5-minute drive away from our Dartmouth Shelter. If people are no longer able to care for their pets, they can call or visit their closest shelter or email info@spcans.ca.
