NTT DATA, Inc., a leading IT services provider, today, June 27, announced its Canadian business unit, NTT DATA Canada, Inc., is expanding its Advanced Development Centre operations in Nova Scotia.
“NTT DATA employs 75,000 people across more than 40 countries and we are proud to expand our footprint by continuing to hire and attract talent to our Halifax operations,” said Pam Johnson, vice-president of human capital, NTT DATA Canada.
“NTT DATA delivers a broad set of IT Services to clients across multiple industries located in both the U.S. and Canada,” said Dean Williams, executive vice-president of global human capital at NTT DATA, Inc. “Nova Scotia has proven to be an ideal location for us since we opened our office under the name Keane, Inc. in 1997.”
To help NTT DATA grow, NSBI is amending its existing payroll rebate, signed in 2012, for the higher-than-anticipated growth. NTT Data would add more than $80 million in salary if it creates 500 new positions over the six years of the payroll rebate. Employees would pay personal income taxes of about $10.5 million and the company would earn up to $6,720,706 in payroll rebates through NSBI’s Strategic Investment Funds.
“To date, NTT DATA Canada has hit all of its growth targets and had an opportunity for further growth. NSBI worked to encourage that growth to happen here,” said John Ludovice, managing director, Investment Attraction, Nova Scotia Business Inc.
NTT DATA Canada has been honoured with multiple top-employer awards in Canada this year. Chosen by Canada’s Top 100 Employers program, an annual competition to recognize Canada’s best places to work, the company was recognized in two separate award categories, including Atlantic Canada’s Top Employers and Nova Scotia’s Top Employers. This is the ninth consecutive year of recognition by Canada’s Top 100 Employers annual competitions.
