From Halifax Police:

“On Saturday afternoon, at 3:10 p.m. a man and his wife were walking their dog on leash on a trail from Princess Margaret Boulevard towards the train tracks near Windmill Road. A second dog (off leash) approached their dog and jumped on him. The man attempted to control the second dog to prevent it from hurting their dog.  The second dog’s owner appeared holding a knife and stabbed the couple’s dog multiple times. The male then threatened the couple. The suspect left the area with his dog and the couple called police.  The suspect was located nearby by responding members of the East Division Quick Response Unit and arrested at 3:21 p.m. Following investigation a 56 year old Dartmouth man was release to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date, charged with Cruelty to Animal, Possession of a Weapon and Uttering Threats.”
