Halifax Regional Police are currently investigating an assault that took place this afternoon.
At 1:15 p.m. police responded to the 5900 block of Spring Garden Road after a man entered the reception area of an office and confined a female employee. The man grabbed her when she tried to leave but she was able to get away by going over the counter. When officers arrived the man initially refused to leave the office, but eventually surrendered to police without incident.
The man remains in custody and the investigation is in its early stages. At this time no decision about charges has been made.
