Shortly after 300 am this morning a Central Division member was arriving to back up another officer on a call when his vehicle was struck by a grey Toyota truck in the vicinity of Brunswick Street and Prince Street.
After the collision the truck with a single occupant reversed and sped off, failing to remain. With the help of the public, officers were able to locate the vehicle outbound on the 102 near the Dunbrack exit. A 19 year old man is currently in custody at Police Headquarters on Gottingen Street. This incident is still under investigation at this time.
The officer was treated at the scene by EHS and released.
