Officers are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man after he offered a ride to a child last night in Dartmouth.
On October 2 before 7 p.m., a man driving in the area the 300 block of Portland Street pulled up next to a 12-year-old girl who was walking in the area. He asked her twice if she needed a ride somewhere. The girl didn’t know the man so she said kept walking. It looked like the driver was going to stop the car so the girl then ran to a local restaurant where she called her father.
The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 40 years old with a larger build, a full beard and wearing glasses. He was driving a dark grey four-door sedan. Officers immediately searched the area but were unable to locate the man or the vehicle.
Investigators are asking the man who offered the girl a drive or anyone who has any information on this incident to contact police by calling 902-490-5020.
