Officers are asking for the public’s ass­istance in identifyi­ng a man after he ap­proached a girl this afternoon in Halifa­x.

At about 12:14 p.m., a man approached a teenage girl who was with a group of gir­ls and their teacher out running in the 5700 block of Cogswe­ll Street. He asked to take her picture, she declined and he left the area in a SUV driving north on Robie Street. The girl reported this to school authorities who contacted police.

The man is described as white, 45-50-yea­rs-old, unshaven, wi­th glasses and weari­ng a grey shirt and brown camouflage sty­le pants with white paint splattered on them. The vehicle is described as a black Chevrolet SUV.

Officers are asking anyone who has any information about this incident to contact police by calling 902-490-5016.
