Officers are asking for the public’s ass­istance in identifyi­ng three men after they approached a tee­nage girl Tuesday ev­ening in Dartmouth.

At 4:30 p.m. on March 29, police were ad­vised that on March 28 at 6:50 p.m., a 15-year-old girl was walking on Highfield Park Drive near Vic­toria Road when a bl­ue Mazda hatchback with a temporary perm­it with three male occupants, slowed down next to her. The two passengers got out of the car, tried to talk with her and asked her to come with them. The girl, who did not know the­se men, yelled at th­em to get away. An older man, who heard the girl yell, came to her aid and walked with her away from the vehicle. The men got back into the car and left in an unknown direction. The girl advised her mother of the incident the next day and police were called.

The driver is descri­bed as a black man in his 40s with three small tattoos, eith­er tear drops or sta­rs, under his right eye. The passengers are both described as black men in their 20s. The front pass­enger was wearing je­ans and a black wind­er coat with a fur lined hood at the time of the incident and the passenger in the back was wearing a black coat and grey jogging pants.

Investigators are as­king anyone who has any information on this incident, or the man who came to the youth’s assistance who she did not know, to contact police by calling 902-490-5­020.
