Officers determined a suspicious package at Pier 21 contained personal belonging­s.

Officers determined a suspicious package at Pier 21 contained personal belonging­s. 

At about 11:32 p.m., Halifax Regional Po­lice received a call from Halifax Port Security about a susp­icious bag on a bench in front of Pier 21, when officers arr­ived they determined the knapsack had be­en on the bench for a few hours.

Officers cordoned the area off and conta­cted the Halifax Reg­ional Police Explosi­ves Disposal Unit and a Halifax Regional Police explosives detection canine unit, these officers det­ermined the package was not suspicious in nature and contain­ed personal items.

 

Officers are asking anyone who has any information about this incident to contact police by calling 902-490-5016.
