Officers Provide Special Escort

A mother duck and her ducklings received some VID (Very Important Ducks) treatment last night in Clayton Park.

A concerned citizen called police at approximately 7:45 p.m. last night after spotting the feathered family stranded on the concrete median dividing Highway 102, between Larry Uteck Boulevard and Kearney Lake Road. The responding officers quickly assessed the situation before blocking traffic, gently gathering the ducks and escorting them to safety on the other side of the highway.

Momma duck and her ducklings were not injured during this special escort, and traffic resumed shortly thereafter.
