One arrested after parking lot stabbing

RCMP release:

Yarmouth Town RCMP Detachment arrested a man after an altercation at a Yarmouth business.

On November 22, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers received a report of a fight involving a knife that had just occurred in the parking lot of a business on Starrs Rd. Officers attended and found one person injured. This person was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As police were on the scene, a man attended the Yarmouth Town detachment and said that he had been involved in the fight.

Joshua Blanchard, 28, of Sandford, NS, was arrested at the detachment and will face one charge of Aggravated Assault related to the incident. He was released on conditions pending a court appearance in Yarmouth Provincial Court on December 30.

The incident is still under investigation, and police want to speak with anyone who witnessed or has video footage of this incident.
