One dead after Cork Street shootings

Police are investigating a suspicious death related to a weapons call last night in Halifax.

At approximately 10:43 p.m. police responded to a report of possible shots fired in the 6300 block of Cork Street in Halifax. Officers arrived on scene and located a man with gunshot injuries outside of a residence, a deceased adult male inside of a residence and an adult female with injuries. Investigators believe the three people are known to one another.

As a result of the circumstances and the ongoing investigation, we were not in a position to initially release that one of the victims was found deceased.

The man and the woman were transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries where they remain.

Cork Street remains closed from Dublin Street to Oxford Street and officer are still on scene. The investigation is in the early stages and details are limited at this time. Further information will follow when it becomes available.
