One in custody after a weapons call in Halifax

At 7:09 p.m. police received a call to attend the 1400 block of Lower Water St. in Halifax for a male who had threatened a group of males saying he would stab them with a knife.​ ​ ​ Police arrived onscene and took a 61 year old male into custody without incident.​ A knife was not located.

After investigation it was learned the suspect had been in a fight with an unknown male on the Halifax Waterfront.​ When a group of males tried to break up the fight the suspect threatened to stab them making gestures that he had a knife however, a knife was not seen.

The investigation is in the preliminary stages and charges are anticipated.
