One Person Arrested-Police Seeking Two More in Weekend Robbery

Release:

One person faces charges, and police are looking for two more suspects
in connection with a robbery that took place in Dartmouth over the
weekend.

At approximately 10:20 p.m. on Saturday night, police responded to the
area of the Dartmouth Commons for a weapons call. Upon arrival police
located a 21-year-old man who had been assaulted and robbed. According
to witnesses, several males approached the victim and asked for money
before they assaulted him and took his wallet. Investigators believe
robbery was the motive for the incident and the victim was specifically
targeted. He was taken to hospital with significant facial injuries.
As a result of the efforts by officers assigned to Patrol and the
HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section, a 16-year-old male
youth was arrested yesterday without incident. He is scheduled to appear
in Halifax Youth Court today to face charges of robbery and two counts
of breach of probation. Police are currently looking for two other male
youths in connection with this incident.
