One suspect in custody following a break and enter and hit and run in Dartmouth.

At approximately 11:09 p.m. on April 9th, 2019 police responded to a hit and run accident on Burnside Dr. and Wright Ave. in Dartmouth.​

The run vehicle was spotted moments later on Wright Ave. by police with extensive front end damage.​

When police attempted to stop the vehicle the driver fled the area at a high rate of speed.​ Police later located the vehicle at a residence on Novawood Dr. in Dartmouth and the driver was taken into custody.​

Police also responded to an alarm which had come in at 11:09 p.m. at a business on Ilsley Ave. in Dartmouth.​ On arrival officers discovered a broken window and confirmed a break and enter had occurred.​ After investigation it was determined the driver of the run vehicle had also been involved in the break and enter.

A 40 year old man from Dartmouth is currently in custody and the investigation is ongoing. Charges are pending.
