What is Open City?

Open City is variety of things, but it is chance for the citizens of HRM to have look at the awesome local business we have and maybe experience something they haven’t before in their own front yard. Organized by “I Love Local Halifax” it spawned from an idea to educated the people of HRM and make them better ambassadors for people visiting Halifax and ideally showcasing the best of HRM so they have more experiences to share. There is a passport you can pickup at participating locations so you can get a stamp of what you have done. Some things that are being promoted to get us to experience HRM are, Brooklyn Warehouse  will have a one day Burger Joint, other restaurants having side door kitchen specials are Chives, Hamachi Steak House, Brussels and Stories. I Heart Bikes has night tours, Sugah! has half price ice cream, World Tea Shop and Uncommon Ground have discount beverages. Heck even the Waterfront Development Corp is offering free parking on Pay & Display lots, and Bikram Yoga is offering free classes. A complete list of particpants and samplings can be found here http://www.ilovelocalhfx.ca/v1/ there are 75+ things to do. This will take a tradtionally quiet Halifax weekend and make the city come alive!
