“Operation Hawkeye” reminds motorists to protect their valuables

Halifax District RCMP, along with members of the RCMP Citizens on Patrol, conducted foot patrols in Cole Harbour today in an effort to promote “Operation Hawkeye.”

As part of the RCMP Holiday Crime Prevention strategy ‘Operation Hawkeye’, RCMP is asking residents to take your keys and valuables out of your vehicles and lock the doors when you get out.

RCMP is also remind residents the importance of reporting any incidents of theft from vehicles.

If thefts are reported, it will enable the RCMP to increase patrols in areas that are being targeted by thieves.

They were handing out theft prevention flyers reminding people to keep valuables out of site and always lock their vehicles.
