Organic or Whole Wheat?

We just finished a delicious Supper.  The star of the evening was a pan of maple balsamic roasted brussel sprouts.  OMG do I ever love these things.  I was hoping to have some leftovers for lunch tomorrow but I’m afraid not.

So easy to make too.  Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees.  Combine one part balsamic vinegar, one part maple syrup & one part evoo for the glaze.  Thoroughly coat brussel sprouts and then roast for 20 – 25 mins.  Don’t be scared of brussel sprouts, they’re your friends.  According to the NI in just 4 sprouts there are 3g of fibre, 2g of protein and 120% of your daily vitamin C. Who knew?? 🙂

Paired these lovelies with a simple pasta dish.

Spaghetti noodles with a cream cheese & tomato pesto sauce.  Mmm, I love tomato pesto!  I haven’t bought it in a while and I figured this whole veggie challenge was the perfect time to pick up a bottle.  Sprinkled with fresh parm.

You may notice the noodles are white.  Just like my rice was the other day.  Well I have such a hard time deciding when I have to pick between organic and whole wheat.  Usually I got for organic but then I’m eating a bleached product so is it really any better for me?  Most of the time I’m able to find organic whole wheat products but the past few times I’ve shopped at different stores etc. and that option wasn’t available.  I really am unsure at what the best decision is though, anyone have a clue?

Back tracking to the morning, I had a tasty red delicious with a packet of Justin’s Organic Cinnamon Peanut Buttter.  Mmm mmm fantastic snack combo!

Lunch was left over cream of broccoli & cheddar soup with a few mini biscuits.  It seemed even better after sitting over night.
