Pan Am Games Torch Relay Community Celebration in Halifax on June 7

Friday, May 29, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – Halifax is pleased to be part of the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Games Torch Relay getting underway on May 30. The torch relay will be a 41-day journey that will share the Pan Am spirit in more than 130 communities, culminating in its final stop on July 10 at the Opening Ceremony in Toronto. Residents are invited celebrate and share the Pan Am spirit at a free, family-friendly community celebration when the Pan Am Flame visits Halifax.

Friday, May 29, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – Halifax is pleased to be part of the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Games Torch Relay getting underway on May 30. The torch relay will be a 41-day journey that will share the Pan Am spirit in more than 130 communities, culminating in its final stop on July 10 at the Opening Ceremony in Toronto.

Residents are invited celebrate and share the Pan Am spirit at a free, family-friendly community celebration when the Pan Am Flame visits Halifax.

When: Sunday, June 7, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Grand Parade Square, 1841 Argyle Street, Halifax

Special guests and performers will include: Gold selling, JUNO nominated recording artist Tyler Shaw; local pop group Neon Dreams; Patty Sullivan from CBC Kids; a visit from PACHI, the official mascot of the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games; and, a live stage show with Alex the Lion from the Madagascar movies.

All are welcome to attend this free community event as we join the rest of Canada in the countdown to the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Games this summer.
