Parade of Lights Traffic Advisory – Saturday Nov 16

Halifax Regional Police is issuing a traffic advisory in relation to the Parade of Lights which is scheduled for Saturday evening.

The parade, which starts at 6 p.m., will travel from Upper Water Street then south along Barrington Street, west on Spring Garden Road, south on South Park Street and west along University Avenue. This event is expected to draw a lot of spectators along the entire parade route and roads will be closed as the parade passes through the downtown core. Motorists should expect delays throughout the downtown due to increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic as well as road closures, some of which will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Police encourage anyone planning to attend the parade to consider using public transportation or carpooling to reduce the amount of traffic in the downtown. Motorists are also reminded that there will be no parking along the parade route and vehicles in violation will be ticketed and possibly towed. We thank citizens in advance for their cooperation and patience.
