At 8:23 p.m., on October 7th, Halifax Regional Police responded to report of an assault of a paramedic at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital Emergency Department, 1799 Robie Street Halifax. Emergency Health Services (EHS) reported an adult male patient was physically aggressive and throwing objects, striking a paramedic. The paramedic did not sustain injuries. The patient had originally been brought to the hospital by EHS.
Police arrived and arrested the male without incident moments after the incident occurred. A 33-year-old male from Halifax is facing charges of Assault and Assault with a Weapon and was released on an Undertaking with conditions and a Halifax court date.
