RUMOUR: I am hearing a 2 floor Winners was going in the front. However, someone close to the deal has told me the deal fell through, the response from Winners parent also said no new store planned at this time. My gut tells me though this might still happen as other parties say that it’s true.

Dollarama is going in the back of Park Lane taking up all the space including the hall where Maritime Travel and the Source (assume they will be relocated).

Speaking of Dollarama they now have over 1000 stores and to celebrate? They are introducing $4 items.

Our Thyme Cafe on Portland has lost their funding. “The Cafe has not only supported many women with gained employability and lifeskills training, it has also served many loyal customers in Downtown Dartmouth since 2008. We are sad to announce that the Café will be closing on January 15th, 2016. We will continue to serve our customers, as usual, until we reach this closing date. Thank you to all of our customers who have supported us throughout the years!”

Baker Drive is getting a pub this spring; The Millstone Public House will be opening in former Rocco’s space by AccessNS.

Dominos on Quinpool whose building is being torn down closed. Currently, they are only Wyse, and Parkland are left. However, I hear that they will be reopening in deep North End in the plaza with the NSLC on Novalea.

A new restaurant called Maxim Thai is opening in the plaza on Farnham Gate @ Dunbrack, though they are advertising, they will have Pho featured.

The Needs on Lacewood has closed, hold up artist are going to have to find a new place to rob.

Battery Park, the joint venture between Brooklyn Warehouse and North Brewing opened this week on Ochterloney between King and Wentworth.

Party City in Dartmouth Crossing will open this week.

It appears the once only in Newfoundland, Eversweet Margarine has been popping up in local Superstores this week.

The AndyVent Calendar has now raised over $4600, and it’s just at the halfway point. http://andyvent.retales.ca/

Now the signs are comparing Apples to Oranges

(Toronto) This week a free standing McCafe opened in Union Station NO Burgers NO Fries but ALL DAY Breakfast!! Salads/baked goods/Deli sandwiches.

(Moncton) The Gap is closing at the end of January.

On Saturday the 19th, I’ll be hanging out at Costco all day. I will keep a pattern of approaching cars parked near the door as if they are mine (works best with accomplices), hunt cars will stop and salivate for the spot and then you just walk away

Earlier in the week I posted a bunch of vintage ads, including store listings for Park Lane when it opened, a 1985 Midnight Madness sale at Mic Mic Mall, a crazy Swiss Chalet deal and more. Click Here
