PC Campaign Manager Peter Zwicker resigns after Liberal complaint

Release:

To whom it may concern;

This morning I tendered my resignation as campaign manager in the constituency of Lunenburg.

I don’t want to be a distraction from the good work the campaign is doing, so I have decided the best thing to do is to step away.

I am aware of the complaint that the Liberals have lodged and I want to take this opportunity to explain what happened.

On November 9th, the campaign hosted a coffee meet and greet at a local Tim Hortons restaurant.  I wanted the campaign to pay for all the coffee served in a 15 minute window but found  the restaurant could not accommodate that request.

After consultation with restaurant staff, I decided to give a gift card in the amount of $2.07 (the price of a cup of coffee) to patrons in that 15 minute window.  The total was $51.75.

The candidate did not know this had happened.

I am sincerely sorry that my actions have caused a distraction to a candidate I have so much respect for.

Yours sincerely;

Peter Zwicker
