Friday, July 3, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that on Monday, July 6, the pedestrian bridge that spans Victoria Road in Dartmouth will close for the summer for repairs.
The closure will go into effect at 7 a.m. Monday and remain in place until Tuesday, Sept. 1. Pedestrians should use the marked crosswalks at Highfield Park Drive or Primrose Street to cross Victoria Road while the bridge is shut down. Motorists are advised to slow their speed and watch for increased pedestrian traffic in the area.
The municipality regrets any inconvenience this closure may cause; however, it is necessary for the public’s safety, as crews will be replacing the surface of the walkway and the fence enclosing the bridge.
