Pedestrian charged in collision

Halifax Regional PoliceHalifax Regional Police has charged a man in relation to a pedestrian-vehicle collision in Halifax Monday afternoon.

At 1:51 pm police were called to the 6100 block of Quinpool Road after a pedestrian, attempting to cross the street, was hit by a car.

The vehicle was heading westbound on Quinpool Road when a man, who was not in a crosswalk, entered the roadway and was struck, knocking him onto the hood of the car.

The 19-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries and released.

Police have charged the pedestrian with failing to yield to a vehicle.

Halifax Regional Police would like to remind pedestrians of the importance of using designated crosswalks when crossing the street and to make eye contact with drivers before entering the roadway.
