Pedestrian hit by Transit bus

HRP release:

Police are investigating a vehicle-pedestrian collision that occurred in Halifax this morning.

At approximately 7:15 a.m., police responded to a vehicle-pedestrian collision at the intersection of Spring Garden Road and Barrington Street. A 42-year-old woman was crossing Barrington Street in a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a Halifax Transit bus turning left on to Barrington Street from Spring Garden Road.

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital by EHS for treatment of what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the bus was issued a summary offence ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
