HRP release:
At 5:35 a.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a pedestrian hit by a garbage truck in the 200 block of Lacewood Drive in Halifax.
The pedestrian was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing and in the early stages.
Lacewood Drive eastbound between Willett Street and Dunbrack Street is closed to all traffic. Traffic entering and leaving the shopping plaza at the same location (McDonald/s restaurant / Shoppers Drug Mart) is also blocked.
It is expected that the traffic restrictions will remain in place for an extended period of time – please use alternate routes.
