Pedestrian injured after being hit in Cole Harbour crosswalk, Cole Harbour, N.S.

A 37 year-old woman was taken to hospital after being hit by a pick-up truck on Caldwell Road. Shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Thursday night Halifax District RCMP responded to a call of a pedestrian being hit in a crosswalk at the intersection of Shore Road and Caldwell Rd in Cole Harbour.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Thursday night Halifax District RCMP responded to a call of a pedestrian being hit in a crosswalk at the intersection of Shore Road and Caldwell Rd in Cole Harbour.

The woman was crossing in a crosswalk when she was hit by a pick-up truck turning left from Shore Road onto Caldwell Rd. The crosswalk is unmarked and not lit. The woman from Eastern Passage was wearing dark clothing at the time of crash. She sustained minor injuries and was transported to Dartmouth General Hospital where she was later released.

The pick up truck was being driven by a 44 year-old man from Cole Harbour.

Police are continuing their investigation and have not determined if charges will be laid in this case.

The weather was clear at the time.
