At 10:40 this morning, a 55 year old male in a marked crosswalk was attempting to cross Barrington St at Artz St. when a he was struck by a tractor trailer. The driver of the truck failed to stop and continued north on Barrington. The pedestrian suffered minor injuries to his right leg. He was treated at the scene by EHS and released. The truck is described as having a a tan colored trailer. Halifax Regional Police are requesting that anyone who witnessed the accident contact police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
