Pedestrian struck in marked crosswalk

At 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, Halifax District RCMP responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

A 54-year-old woman was transported to hospital by EHS with non-life threatening injuries after she was struck by a car at the intersection of Hugh Allen Dr. and Cole Harbour Rd. The pedestrian was in a marked crosswalk with the lights illuminated at the time of the collision.

The driver of the car, a 94-year-old man, was charged for Failing to Yield to a Pedestrian in a Crosswalk and Failing to Stop at a Red Light.

The investigation is continuing.
