Form 2 (Application for ownership, permit and plates) must be completed by the registered owner.
If you have a peeling licence plate, we will give you a new plate for free when you visit an Access Nova Scotia Centre.
If you have a defective licence plate, we will give you a new plate for free when you bring the defective plate to an Access Nova Scotia Centre.
If you have a defective licence plate within the e-series (EAAOO1 to EZZ999), we will replace the plate for free with or without the return of the plate. This particular range of plates have had more issues than others.
If your licence plate is lost, destroyed or stolen, there is a $5.80 replacement fee per plate which you can pay when you visit an Access Nova Scotia Centre. If you are required to have two plates, the fee is $11.60, even if you lost only one plate.
Under the Motor Vehicle Act, you could be fined by the police or RCMP for not having your licence plates clearly visible and legible.
Replacement plates may be issued at all Access Nova Scotia Centres and Registry of Motor Vehicles officesthroughout the province.
