Perma Smile

I took my car in to O’Reagan’s Perma-Shine this morning to get her a much needed cleaning out. It was something I had never done before, but knew that it could use a good cleaning after our road trip last month and just from having an adorable but shedable pup! So I dropped her off this morning and I went to pick her up after work.

I get there and the young girl tells me that my car’s not quite ready yet. So I sit and wait in the waiting area which is in plain view of the reception desk.

Thanks to having a smart phone on hand, I find the minutes ticking by quite fun and entertaining because I’ve got UberTwitter on my Blackberry! So I start throwing out random tweets about this and that, tweeting with Lynn, Tasha and Jaime and then I noticed that the young girl at the desk (who I also dealt with in the morning), still was barely showing a smile (same as the morning). I noticed it in the morning too, but I figured that since it was only 8:15a.m. I’d give her a bit of a break on not being all wide eyed and bushy tailed 😉

And then this is how it went down:

All I had was a Bic pen and no post-it notes or paper of any kind. Then she tells me that my car is ready. So I go up to the desk, pay the bill and I grabbed one of their flyers. But instead of heading out the door, I sat back down in the waiting room, started fumbling with my 494834 bags that I always seem to have and scribbled down this:

It wasn’t the prettiest note ever written, but it’s the thought that counts, right?!

I managed to get a shot of it and the people at Perma-Shine must have thought “what in the heck is this girl doing??” but I didn’t let that stop me because I knew that a short-lived awkward moment would far out-weigh the benefits of this note. Then I was out the door and then this is how it continued to go down on Twitter…

And before ya know it, I’m BEEMING inside! The point was to make the young girl at Perma-Shine “shine” inside but as a consequence I hopped into my sparkling clean car and…

Okay now I just realized that I mis-tweeted my last tweet @beautifulnote when it should have been @beautifulnoteS ! :-/

Anyway…the point is that it always feels good to make someone else feel good, so if you’re ever feeling kind of “meh” or “bla” or kind of blue, there is a majorly amazing consequence by leaving an Operation Beautiful note for a random stranger 🙂 I think I will forever remember how wonderful it felt to tell that scale outside of GNC at the Mall where to go! And I always kind of wondered who would have opened that menu at Sushi Nami that day that the Halibloggers got together after Bootycamp!

I know you’re all probably well aware of Operation Beautiful by now, but it never gets old for me 🙂

Edit: Okay how freaky is this: Caitlin did a similar style post about tweeting with Jillian Michaels and I had no idea until now! Freeeeaky!!!!
