PHARMASAVE expanding to Bedford

The new PHARMASAVE® will be opening in September 2010 at the new Ravines Professional Centre, located at 535 Larry Uteck Boulevard.

Associated Maritime Pharmacies Ltd., operating under the PHARMASAVE® banner, has been serving Atlantic Canada for over 40 years and is now expanding to Bedford.

The new PHARMASAVE® will be opening in September 2010 at the new Ravines Professional Centre, located at 535 Larry Uteck Boulevard.

The Ravines Professional Centre will also be home to a new Medical Centre that will be providing the community with a full family practice and a walk in clinic.

Residents wanting to be put in touch with the Medical Centre can visit www.ampltd.ca for further information.

Bedford PHARMASAVE® at the Ravines will be offering a full service pharmacy with health & wellness products and services, as well as community focused wellness clinics.

The pharmacist team recognizes that people are not made from cookie cutters and that sometimes they need medication made especially for them. So, in addition to typical pharmacy services, the pharmacy team is certified in speciality compounding.

Specialty compounding is the science of creating custom medications from scratch to meet specific patient needs.

Andrew Buffett, Managing Partner and Pharmacy General Manager states that “We can design medications specifically for each patient, working within a triad: physician-patient-pharmacist. If you feel your medications do not ‘fit’ you, if you have trouble giving medication to your child or family pet, if you worry about your aging parent taking their medication correctly, or if you have had to avoid taking medication because of an allergy or intolerance to an ingredient such as a filler, dye or fragrance; then our specialty pharmacist team will be delighted to assist you with a customized solution.”

The compounding lab will focus on solutions for cosmeceutical and anti-aging products, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, veterinary medicine, dental medicine and pain management.

Patients will be able to watch through a viewing window as their custom medication is created in the 300 square foot compounding lab.

Bedford Pharmasave at the Ravines is locally owned and operated and is committed to promoting the overall health and wellness of the neighbourhood. They are creating a unique shopping experience based around the community’s needs.

In this neighbourhood pharmacy customers will be able to participate in consulting services and workshops offered by licensed cosmetologists on natural beauty and skin care solutions that have been sourced from around the world.

Customers will also enjoy unique shopping destinations for products such as personal care items, baby care, home seasonal decor and gift.
