A Bayers Lake restaurant was robbed Monday evening while customers were inside, with two signed and framed NHL jerseys taken from the lobby.
The incident occurred at Big Leagues on February 17 at approximately 8:30 PM. Two suspects were involved: A masked individual who entered and removed the jerseys, and a driver who waited outside. The pair fled immediately after.
The stolen items are a signed Sidney Crosby Pittsburgh Penguins jersey and a signed Nathan MacKinnon Colorado Avalanche jersey, both authentically signed and professionally framed.
“Tonight, a man in a ski mask came into the restaurant and stole our two signed and framed Crosby and MacKinnon jerseys from our lobby,” said general manager Natalie Langley. “We are locally owned and operated and are about to have a big event on Sunday for the gold medal game to cheer our boys on. This one hurts.”
Halifax Regional Police have been notified and an investigation is ongoing.
Management is asking anyone with information, surveillance footage from the Bayers Lake area around 8:30 PM on February 17, or who spots the jerseys being sold privately or online to contact Halifax Regional Police at 902-490-5020 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
