Fire crews were called to 1 Farthington Place in Dartmouth late Sunday afternoon for a small fire that started under some stairs on the Crystal Dr side of the building.

 

According to Capt Greer with Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency Services, the fire was contained to the stairs and there was no damage to the interior of the apartment building. He said that it is possible that the fire was started intentionally but it is not certain at this time.

 

Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire and ventilated the building to remove any smoke that may have entered around the side door.

 

Residents were allowed back in the building around 5:45 pm.
