RCMP officers are currently on scene of a two vehicle crash that occurred earlier this afternoon.
At approximately 3:40 p.m., Pictou County RCMP officers were called to a two vehicle crash on Highway 104, Marshy Hope. A tractor trailer and a passenger car were travelling in opposite directions when they collided. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured, while the driver and passenger of the car were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
RCMP from Pictou and Antigonish responded, along with Fire Services from Barney’s River, Merigomish and New Glasgow. EHS and the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal also assisted.
Motorists on Highway 104 are being re-routed eastbound at the Barney’s River Exit and westbound at the James River Exit.
An RCMP collision reconstructionist is on scene and expects the highway to be closed until approximately 11:00 p.m. as the investigation continues.
