Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred in Dartmouth over the weekend.

On February 2 at approximately 8 p.m. police were called a home invasion that had just occurred at a residence on Trinity Avenue in Dartmouth.​

A man not known to the resident knocked on the door, and when the male resident opened the door, the man struck him in the head with what appeared to be a replica gun.

The suspect made his way into the residence and continued to assault the resident while demanding money. The resident provided a sum of money and the suspect fled the area on foot.

The 47-year-old victim was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Officers searched the area but did not locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as young white man, approximately 6’-6’2” tall, weighing 190-210 lbs. He had short stubble on his face and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and sunglasses.
