Halifax Regional Police were called to a Leaman Drive address in Dartmouth in response to a sexual assault complaint. Police spoke to a 22 year-old female victim this evening and learned that sometime shortly after 4:00am on July17th, a man driving a taxi in the area of Salter Street picked her up in a van with a roof light.
As the male driver was dropping her off outside of her destination he proceeded to touch the victim in a sexual manner without her consent, on the outside of her clothes.
The suspect is described as a soft spoken Middle Eastern man, approximately 5’8” with a thin build, black hair, a scruffy beard and a big nose.
