[Update] Police are investigating arrest involving injured man

Investigators have been continuing their investigation. The 66 year old man’s condition has improved, his injuries are now believed to be non-life threatening.

At approximately 11:35 am today Halifax Regional Police responded to the Hearthstone Inn located at 313 Prince Albert Rd in Dartmouth in relation to a man that was in need of medical attention.  The 66 year old man described the cause of his injuries as accidental and was cleared by paramedics prior to being arrested for unrelated breaches of court orders.  The man was later transported to hospital  by HRP for treatment where it was learned that the man’s injuries are believed to be life threatening.  HRP/RCMP Integrated Criminal Investigation Members and HRP Forensic Identification members are currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of his injuries, more information will be released when it is known.

Investigators are looking to speak with anyone that may have seen or heard anything in the area, in the hours leading up to 11:30 am today, that may assist in determining the cause of these injuries and ask that they contact Halifax Regional Police at 902-490-5020.
