Police seek public’s assistance in identifying a suspect

Police are looking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects in an assault that occurred last month in Halifax.

At approximately 5:15 p.m. on December 8 police responded to a report of a group of people fighting in the McDonald’s parking lot located at 6982 Mumford Road. The suspects had left the area prior to police arrival.

While on scene police received a report that a man had been assaulted by a group of youths/young at the same location. The man and the group were involved in a verbal dispute when two of the members of the group assaulted him. The man attended the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The first suspect is described as a black man in his late teens or early twenties, approximately 5’10” with a thin build and wearing a reddish jacket.

The second is described as a black man in his late teens or early twenties approximately 5’6” with a thin build and wearing a dark jacket.

Police believe there may have been people in the parking lot who witnessed the incident and are asking anyone with information about this incident to call police at 902-490-5020.​ Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or by using the P3 Tips app.
