Police Arrest Male with Long Record of Driving Offences

November 7, 2011, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) … Halifax District Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) arrested a male for violating the Motor Vehicle Act in Lower Sackville, N.S.
 
On November 7th, at approximately 10:47 PM, RCMP observed a male driving westbound on Highway 101 between Exits 1 and 2 and stopped the vehicle on BeaverBank Road. Further investigation revealed that the driver has numerous offences under the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act and over thirty-five thousand dollars ($35000) in outstanding fines.  He is also a revoked driver.  
 
A 26-year-old male from Sackville faces a new charge under Section 287(2) of the Motor Vehicle Act for Driving while Suspended.  The vehicle, a blue Volkswagen Jetta, was also seized.  He will be appearing in court at a later date.
