Police were called to Bishop’s Landing last night after an item was discovered near the marina.
At 7:37 pm, Halifax Regional Police responded to Bishops Landing, 1475 Lower Water St, regarding a suspicious item, lodged between rocks of the seawall on the north side of the marina. The item was already under the water when police arrived, we could not determine what it was, possibly a flare or an explosive device. Forensic Identification members were called to the scene, but they could not dislodge the item, it would be necessary to wait until the tide began to recede and try again. For safety precautions the area was cordoned off. Earlier this morning the item was removed from the seawall, it appeared to be some type of explosive fastening anchor.
