A 25 Year old female who was caught driving at a high rate of speed on July 18th in Dartmouth has been charged with stunting.
At 1:37 p.m., a member of the Halifax Regional Police observed a speeding car travelling South bound on Highway 111. The driver, a 25-year-old female from Enfield, was caught on radar travelling at 136 km/h in a 80 km/h zone. She has been ticketed for stunting under the Motor Vehicle Act, a charge that is automatically laid when a vehicle is travelling more than 50 km/h over the speed limit. As a result, the driver is suspended from driving for one week and her vehicle was seized and towed. Upon conviction, there is a fine of $2,422.50 and six points are assigned to a person’s driving record.
