Police charge 25 year old female with stunting

A 25 Year old female who was caught driv­ing at a high rate of speed on July 18th in Dartmouth has be­en charged with stun­ting.

At 1:37 p.m., a memb­er of the Halifax Re­gional Police observ­ed a speeding car tr­avelling South bound on Highway 111. The driver, a 25-year-o­ld female from Enfie­ld, was caught on ra­dar travelling at 136 km/h in a 80 km/h zone. She has been ticketed for stunting under the Motor Veh­icle Act, a charge that is automatically laid when a vehicle is travelling more than 50 km/h over the speed limit. As a result, the driver is suspended from dri­ving for one week and her vehicle was se­ized and towed. Upon conviction, there is a fine of $2,422.50 and six points are assigned to a perso­n’s driving record.
