Shortly before 6 p.m. on Saturday, Halifax District RCMP responded to a call about a stabbing at the Government Wharf, St. Margarets Bay.
The investigation determined that a 38-year-old man entered a residence in Boutiliers Point at approximately 4 p.m. The man left after being told to leave. After learning of what had taken place, the 49-year-old man later drove to the Government Wharf and confronted the 38-year-old man. The 38-year-old man proceeded to pull out a knife and stab the 49-year-old man in the foot. Both men were transported by EHS to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
As a result, 38-year-old Kevin Arthur Whiting, Boutiliers Point is facing numerous charges:
· Attempted Aggravated assault
· Assault
· Assault with a Weapon
· Weapon Dangerous to the Public
· Assault Causing Bodily Harm
· Uttering Threats
· Break and Enter
Whiting was remanded in to custody and was to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today.
The investigation is ongoing and is now being led by the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.
