Police charge bus driver in vehicle/pedestrian collision

HRP have charged a Halifax Transit driver after a vehicle/pedestrian collision that occurred this morning in Halifax.

At approximately 10:15 a.m. a Halifax Transit bus traveling eastbound on Joseph Howe Drive struck a pedestrian who was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Joseph Howe Drive and Bayers Road.

The 67-year-old woman was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

The bus driver, a 33-year-old-Halifax man, was charged under the Motor Vehicle Act for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
