Police charge four youth after crash in North Preston

May 25, 2011, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) . . . Royal Canadian Mounted Police have arrested two youths after a motor vehicle crash in North Preston, Nova Scotia.
On May 25, 2011,  3:09 AM,  police responded to a complaint of a motor vehicle crash on Brian Street in North Preston.  The suspects left the vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, and were tracked by a police dog.   Four youth, 2 male and 2 female, were taken into police custody without incident.  The investigation revealed the vehicle was stolen from a residence on Oakwood Court in Dartmouth.  All four were charged with Possession of Stolen Property.  Police also charged two youth with Theft of gas from an Ultramar on Main Street earlier in the morning.
A 17-year-old male from East Preston will be appearing in court this morning to answer to Criminal Code charges of Theft of Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle, Obstructing Police Officer,  Failing to Comply with an Undertaking,  Driving while Prohibited Canada Wide and Breach of Probation.
A 15-year-old male from Halifax will also be appearing in court this morning and will be facing charges under the Criminal Code including Theft of Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Breach of Probation.
Two females, ages 16 (Dartmouth) and 18 (East Preston), will appear in court at a later date and face Criminal Code charges including Theft of Motor Vehicle and Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle.
