Police charge males with numerous offences in relation to sexual assault, Halifax Regional Municipality, N.S.

Police have charged two men in relation to the unlawful confinement and sexual assault of a 15-year-old female in North Preston.

On Thursday, April 10th at 8:48 p.m., RCMP received a report of shots fired at a residence on Clarence Street.

The investigation revealed that a 15-year-old female had escaped from another residence on Clarence Street after she was held against her will for the past two days and had been sexually assaulted.

Two men, both 18 years of age from North Preston, are being held in custody and will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Monday April 14th, 2014. Both men face charges of Trafficking in Persons, Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference and Unlawful Confinement.

In addition to these charges, one of the men is also charged with Uttering Threats, Procuring, Use of Weapon During Assault, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public, and Breach of Probation.

The incident remains under investigation by the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit (MCU).
