Police charge man and woman after armed robbery

 

Officers assigned to the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, with the assistance of the West Quick Response Unit, have arrested a man and a woman in connection with a robbery that occurred this past Friday in Halifax.

 

On July 22, at approximatley12:37 a.m., police responded to the 2100 block Gottingen Street in relation to a man who was robbed at gun point. The victim advised that he was robbed by a man and woman known to him after leaving the pharmacy with his prescription. The victim was not injured and both suspects were arrested a short time later without incident.

 

As a result of the investigation into the robbery, a search warrant was conducted in the 100 block of Kelly Street in Halifax. Officers seized cocaine, hydromorph, drug paraphernalia and a quantity of cash. A man and woman were arrested at the scene.

 

Twenty-nine-year-old Cordell Pyke and 23-year-old Jillissa Gourley, both of Halifax, have been charged with the following offences: robbery with a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weaponand uttering threats. Cordell Pyke will face additional charges of possession of cocaine and possession of hydromorph and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today. Jillissa Gourley will face an additional charge of possession of cocaine and was released on a recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court August 30.
