Police charge man following armed robbery, Lake Echo, N.S.

Police have charged a man in connection to an armed robbery at a restaurant on Highway 7 that occurred just after 10 p.m. Monday, August 10. Members from Halifax District RCMP responded to an armed robbery at Crazy Weasel Pizza on Highway 7 in Lake Echo.

Police have charged a man in connection to an armed robbery at a restaurant on Highway 7 that occurred just after 10 p.m. Monday, August 10.

Members from Halifax District RCMP responded to an armed robbery at Crazy Weasel Pizza on Highway 7 in Lake Echo.

Three masked men entered the business and robbed two employees at gun point. The suspects fled the scene. A short time later, officers arrested a 19-year-old male connected to the robbery and he was taken into police custody.

On August 11, investigators with the General Investigation Section of Integrated Criminal Investigation Division charged Tobin Zack Simmonds of North Preston with the following:

– Robbery with a Firearm
– Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace
– Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
– Unauthorized Possession of a Motor Vehicle

Simmonds was remanded into custody and will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Monday, August 17 for a bail hearing.

The investigation is continuing.
